I went to Victoria Garden Apple Store to listen new iPod touch 3rd gen 32gb with my Ultimate Ear ue11pro, Shure E500, Monter Turbine, and Sennheiser IE8. Even these highest quality in-ear monitors can not make iPod Touch 3 sound good. ue11pro is a 1.1k+ in-ear monitor, and usually it can make worst MP3 player sounds pretty good. Not in this case, even ue11pro can not make iPod Touch 3 sound good.
iPod Touch 3 sounds very thin, no detail, weak bass, no extension on low and high, shrink mid, small space... it just bad bad bad!
If you want a electronic TOY and don't care about sound quality, yeah, get iPod Touch 3. If you want real good sound quality player, get Cowon X5L, iAudio7, D2+, O2, or S9. Maybe iRiver Spinn will do, too.
I was going to give one star for its terrible sound quality, but I will give the 2nd star for its other functions.Get more detail about Apple iPod touch 64 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL.

I'm loving my iPod Touch and it was the perfect birthday gift to myself. It really is like having a mini-computer with you at all times. The only thing that's missing is a camera, but that's not a big deal at all. It's great for people who want an iPhone, but don't want AT&T's lousy service. I also love not having to pay a monthly subscription charge to Verizon for apps on my cell phone, now that I have the iPod Touch!
